A message from Rev'd Christine Garrod
Last Time From the Rectory . . . . .
Yes, it really is the last time I shall be writing from the rectory here in Monks Kirby. It does not seem possible that Ian and I have been here with you all for five years - the time seems to have flown by. And now I sit here amongst a mountain of boxes (why do I have so many books?!) wondering where the years have gone and pondering on what the future may hold. We have so many happy memories of our time here that parting is not easy.
Last Sunday evening (13th September) was a very special occasion for us. So many dear friends, for that is what you are, came to sing God's praises in his church at Brinklow and also to say our farewells. And what a farewell it was! Thank you so much for your wonderful generosity. We shall take great pleasure in using the patio set and will raise a glass to you all when we do! (By the way, the chairs are exceedingly comfortable - just right for nodding off in the sunshine….)
Today has been spent packing, and now the reality of the move is sinking in. Although Norfolk is our 'home' county we have never lived in that part before, close to Norwich, so it will be a very new experience. A step into the unknown. But as I said on Sunday evening, we need only enough light for the next step and we can trust God for the rest. We have all journeyed a long way together in the Revel parishes. The next step for me is in Norfolk, and for you it is here in Warwickshire, continuing the good work. I have every confidence that "the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ". (Philppians 1 v.6) May God bless you today and always.
Yours in Christ
Rev'd Chris Garrod
